Bolivar Medical Center’s Quality Director and Patient Safety Director Teresa Grissette has attained the prestigious international credential, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).

Grissette recently passed a fully accredited, international examination that assesses knowledge and understanding of the process to achieve regulatory compliance and accreditation/licensure, program development and management along a continuum of care, and quality improvement concepts as well as departmental management skills.

“During preparation for and obtaining this certification, I was exposed to a vast amount of knowledge on the principles and practice in my chosen field. It is my hope that my increased knowledge and skill set will allow me to help our organization with continued improvement in total quality management,” said Grissette.

The comprehensive CPHQ credential covers the profession of quality, case/care/disease/utilization and risk management and emphasizes how all of these programs and processes integrate into an effective system.

CPHQ marks an important career milestone for Grissette and is significant in benefiting the hospital’s operation.

“I chose a career focus in healthcare quality and patient safety and as a healthcare quality professional, I am always looking for ways to improve for our organization and for myself. I am proud to be a member of the Bolivar Medical Center family and help serve our community, staff, and practitioners,” said Grissette.
