Our Family Takes Care of Yours
From our board-certified physicians and emergency nurses, to our 24-hour hospitalists, every member of our team is dedicated to providing emergency care to their community. Just last year, we treated approximately 20,000 adults and children from Bolivar County and surrounding areas.
Our patients are our neighbors, our friends and our family. At Bolivar Medical Center, that connection drives every choice we make at the ED.
Is It An Emergency?
It can be confusing sometimes to decide when your medical condition warrants a trip to the Emergency Department. But certain signs should not be ignored. Don’t hesitate to come to the ED if you experience:
- Breathing problems
- Broken bones protruding from the skin
- Change in mental status (such as confusion, difficulty walking or unusual behavior)
- Chest or upper abdominal pain or pressure
- Continuous bleeding
- Coughing up or vomiting blood
- Heart problems
- Poisoning or drug overdose
- Severe burns, cuts, punctures or bites
- Severe or persistent vomiting
- Sudden dizziness, weakness or change in vision
When in doubt, come immediately to the ED.
