Bolivar Medical Center Receives National Recognition

March 14, 2018

Bolivar Medical Center’s Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center has been awarded the Center of Distinction Award for 2017 by Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services.

The Center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for twelve consecutive months, including patient satisfaction higher than 92 percent, and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 91 percent within 30 median days to heal. There were 635 Centers eligible for the Center of Distinction award, but only 427 achieved the honor.

Program Director of the Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine Center Michie Duke commends the staff for the award.

“Earning Center of Distinction status this year is a true testament of the staff’s knowledge and expertise,” said Duke.

Since 2011, The Center has offered highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time. Duke commented on satisfaction and healing rate for the Center’s patients.

“We are proud to be designated as a Center of Distinction based on our remarkable patient satisfaction and outcomes, most notably a 97 percent healing rate. This recognition is well-deserved, and I am extremely proud of my colleagues and team.”
