Prestigious Credentials Earned at Bolivar Medical Center

Bolivar Medical Center employees JoAnn McCollum, Chief Nursing Officer, and Rhonda Allen, Director of Clinic Informatics and Risk Manager, recently attained the prestigious international credential, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).
McCollum and Allen passed a fully accredited, international examination that assesses knowledge and understanding of the process to achieve regulatory compliance and accreditation/licensure, program development and management along a continuum of care, and quality improvement concepts as well as department management skills.
McCollum has served Bolivar Medical Center for over 13 years and received the 2016 LifePoint Hospitals Chief Nursing Officer of the Year. She holds the Certified in Patient Safety (CPPS) credentialing and is certified in Medical-Surgical Nursing (RN-BC). McCollum earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the Robert E. Smith School of Nursing at Delta State University.
Allen is a native of Tunica, Miss., and joined the Bolivar Medical Center team approximately 10 years ago. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss. Allen is also Certified in Patient Safety (CPPS) and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM).
The comprehensive CPHQ credential covers the profession of quality, case/care/disease/utilization and risk management and emphasizes how all of these programs and processes integrate into an effective system.
These employees join fellow colleague Quality Director and Patient Safety Director Teresa Grissette who is also CPHQ credentialed with the ranks of over 10,000 professionals in the United States and internationally who have achieved this important career milestone.

BMC is a 164 bed acute-care general hospital accredited by The Joint Commission, which offers a full complement of medical and surgical services. The hospital also offers a wide array of outpatient services and in addition, includes a 35-bed nursing home, 12 swing beds and 12 geropsychology beds.
