Robinson and Wright to Serve on Bolivar Medical Center’s Board of Trustees
April 11, 2018
Bolivar Medical Center announces that Dr. Bennie Wright and Kathy Robinson have been selected to serve on the hospital’s Board of Trustees.
“We are so excited to welcome Dr. Wright and Kathy to our Board and know that both new members will do an outstanding job,” said Rob Marshall, chief executive officer (CEO) of Bolivar Medical Center. “The longstanding leadership and deep knowledge of the unique needs of our community will be a great asset to our leadership team, employees and medical staff as we work to make our communities healthier.”
Wright specializes in surgery and is the Medical Director of Anesthesia at Bolivar Medical Center. He is an active leader in the community, serving on a number of boards and committees, including the Delta State Foundation Board and the Airport Commission for the City of Cleveland.
Wright earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Delta State University before earning a Doctor of Medicine degree from University of Mississippi Medical School. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and has almost 40 years of licensed experience in surgery.
Robinson is serving as the Patient Advocate on the Board. She is lifetime member of the Cleveland community and is an active member of the Sunny Seniors Alzheimer’s Respite Program and of the Covenant Presbyterian Church. Robinson recently received recognition with an award created just for her from the Mississippi Blood Services for leading the community to donate blood.
Prior to serving in her current role of office financial manager for Robinson Electric, Kathy was employed as manager of a local insurance company for 21 years. Robinson feels that it is important to have a strong community hospital to serve the people right here in their community.
“Cleveland is a great community with a lot to offer, and we need our people to stay right here at home for medical care.” said Robinson.
Dr. Wright and Robinson assumed their roles in March. As Patient Advocate, Robinson will serve a one-year term, and Wright will serve a three-year term. Bolivar Medical Center’s Board of Directors meets monthly and is charged with quality oversight, financial management, and executive leadership.
The 2018 Board of Trustees is comprised of Chairman Mark Williams, Vice-Chairman Peter Woods, Dr. Charles Brock, Dr. Derek Miles, Dr. Hugh Smith, Dr. Bennie Wright, Danny Whalen, Peggy Davis, Dr. Vicki Bingham, Kathy Robinson and CEO/Ex-officio Rob Marshall.
