Bolivar Medical Center’s Relay For Life Team Hosts Fundraiser
June 17, 2024
Bolivar Medical Center’s Relay For Life team, BMC LifeSavers, recently hosted a "Happy Gilmore" themed disc golf tournament to benefit Relay For Life. The event took place on Saturday, June 15, at 9:00 AM at Turntable Tracks in Downtown Cleveland and turned out to be a fun-filled day for participants of all skill levels.
With 15 participants and an equal number of spectators, the tournament successfully raised over $500 for Relay For Life, bringing the BMC LifeSavers team to a total of almost $2000 mid-year.
The tournament featured two brackets: advanced and beginner. John McDaniel and Daniel Bastari tied for First Place in the advanced bracket, while Todd Cooper secured First Place in the beginner bracket, with Kip Johnston taking Second Place. The event was bolstered by over $4000 worth of prizes generously donated by Delta Outdoors and Star Repair and Remodel.
"We are excited to host this 'Happy Gilmore' themed disc golf tournament to support Relay For Life," said Amanda Bastari, Team Captain of BMC LifeSavers. "It’s a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy a fun activity, and contribute to an important cause. We encourage everyone to participate, embrace the theme, and help make a difference in the fight against cancer."
