Bolivar Medical Center Releases its 2025 Community Benefit Report
The report highlights the hospital’s impact on the health and economic well-being of the region.
CLEVELAND, Mississippi (March 25, 2026) – Bolivar Medical Center has released its 2025 Community Benefit Report that highlights the hospital’s ongoing contributions to the health and well-being of Cleveland and surrounding communities.
The report outlines key initiatives and investments made throughout the year to strengthen local healthcare access, support economic growth, and improve the quality of life for residents across the region.
“In 2025, Bolivar Medical Center achieved many of the essential goals of a community hospital,” said Jimmy Young, CEO of Bolivar Medical Center. “We expanded and strengthened service lines, invested in our facility and advanced technologies, and continued delivering exceptional care – reflected in our ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group and additional recognition from organizations such as the Bolivar Bullet and Becker’s Hospital Review. As this report details, we also made a significant impact on the community – as a large employer, taxpayer, and supporter of local organizations – that goes beyond the life-changing and life-saving care we provide daily.”
Expanding Services, Investing in Care
The report highlights Bolivar Medical Center’s continued efforts to meet the region’s evolving healthcare needs by recruiting new providers, expanding clinical services, and investing in medical technology and infrastructure.
In 2025, Bolivar Medical Center welcomed 20 affiliated providers across several specialties, including Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Primary Care, and Radiology. The hospital also made several capital investments, including a new endoscopy imaging system, an MRI machine, orthopedic operating room equipment, a urology laser, and a wireless ultrasound vein finder.
Supporting Patients and Strengthening the Local Economy
Bolivar Medical Center also provided more than $53 million in charitable and uncompensated care, reinforcing its commitment to ensuring patients have access to care regardless of their ability to pay.
Supporting the local workforce remained another key priority. In 2025, the hospital distributed more than $25 million in salaries, wages, and benefits to approximately 300 full-time employees. Bolivar also invested more than $130,000 in professional development and tuition assistance, helping employees advance their skills and continue improving patient care.
Partnering with the Community
The report also highlights the hospital’s broader economic impact as a taxpaying operation. In 2025, Bolivar Medical Center paid nearly $5 million in provider, payroll, property, and sales taxes, contributing to the region’s economic stability and growth.
Bolivar Medical Center also continued supporting numerous local organizations and community initiatives, including Bolivar County Hospital Auxiliary, Bologna Performing Arts Center, Cleveland-Bolivar Chamber of Commerce, Cleveland Junior Auxiliary, Cleveland Park Commission, Cleveland School District, Crosstie Arts & Crafts Festival, Delta BBQ Battle, Delta Cotton Belles, Delta Rice Promotions, Inc., Delta State University Athletics, Ducks Unlimited, Presbyterian Day School, Relay For Life, Women’s Resource Center, and ZOE Ministries.
“Most of our team live and work around Cleveland and are thrilled to be able to support organizations that share our commitment to improving the lives of those who live and work in the Delta area,” Young added.
