Long Term Care Employee Receives MHCA Award
September 14, 2018
Bolivar Medical Center’s Long Term Care Director of Nursing Rosie Golliday was recently awarded First Place as Director of Nursing by the Mississippi Health Care Association (MHCA).
The MHCA presents Caregiver Awards annually to individuals in various caregiving categories, including the category of Director of Nurses. These individuals are nominated by supervisors, co-workers, residents and residents’ families who complete an application for nomination. A panel of experienced long term care professionals then select three winners.
Golliday has thirty years of long term care service and has been employed at Bolivar Medical Center since 1987. MHCA’s Director of Professional Development Wanda Kennedy announced Golliday’s award and recognized her for service excellence.
“She is known as the person to go to when you want something done…and done right. In her facility, she is leading the charge for Person Centered Care and showing all staff the importance of meeting not just the physical needs of the residents but also the psychosocial need,” said Kennedy.
Golliday was delighted with the award and showed appreciation for the support of her team at Bolivar Medical Center.
“I am so honored to receive this caregiver award and could not have done it without my fantastic staff! This is the most supportive position I have ever been in and I am very blessed and grateful to work with such a wonderful staff, residents and family members,” said Golliday.
Administrator of Long Term Care Patsy Rowe works with Golliday on a daily basis and commended her for her professionalism.
“Rosie is a great professional and a dear friend and I am really thankful for the opportunity we have had for so many years to work together,” said Rowe.
Bolivar Medical Center’s Long Term Care was selected as the Bolivar Commercial’s 2018 Reader’s Choice for Best Long Term Care in Bolivar County, and it’s team members like Golliday that help make that happen.
